Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Nephi Daily collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use the Nephi Daily mobile app, its widgets, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described here.

Nephi Daily is made by the developer of Nephi Plates and shares its account system. It is an independent, unofficial app, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

No account needed

The daily routine, streak, Faith tree, Quiet Time, Learn path, widgets and Verse Art all work without an account. Until you sign in, your progress, journal entries and preferences live only on your device. Deleting the app, clearing its storage, or replacing your device permanently removes information that exists only on that device.

Information you provide

If you create an account, you provide (or your sign-in provider shares) an email address or identifier and a display name. If you post a prayer request, pray for someone, leave a note on a request, report content, or hide someone, that is stored on our servers. Please don't provide information that isn't necessary for using the Service.

Account and synchronization data

Once you're signed in, your routine progress and streak, Learn path progress, promise history, journal entries, words and verses you've learned, and related settings sync to your account so they follow you across devices. Journal entries are private to your account and are never shown to other users.

One account with Nephi Plates

Nephi Daily and Nephi Plates use the same account. If you sign in to Nephi Daily with your Nephi Plates account (including the one-tap “Continue with Nephi Plates” option, which passes a short-lived, single-use sign-in code from one app to the other on your device), both apps can read and update your shared profile, streak and prayer activity. If you choose to move Faith or prayer progress from Nephi Plates into Nephi Daily, that progress is copied between the two apps on your device and then synced to your account.

The prayer room is anonymous

You don't need an account to request prayer, pray for someone or leave a note, and none is created for you. Instead, Nephi Daily makes a random key that stays on your phone. Our servers store only a one-way scrambled version of it (a hash), never your email or name, so the room can tell your requests from everyone else's, keep a daily limit, and honor anything you hide. If you're signed in, the room uses your account as well. Either way, other people never see your account or that key: a request or note shows the name you type for it, or “Friend” if you leave it empty.

To prevent spam, the room also limits how much can be posted from one network each day. For that, it keeps a scrambled version of your IP address (a salted hash, not the address itself) for one day. On reports, that scrambled version is kept for up to 30 days, so reports must come from several places before a request is hidden.

Requests, notes and the people praying for them are deleted 30 days after a request is posted, or sooner if you delete it. We keep only a running count of how many requests, prayers and notes the room receives each day, with no text, names or identifiers. Requests, notes and names are checked for unkind words, links, phone numbers and email addresses before they're shared. You can report a request or note, or hide everything from its author on your phone; a request reported by several people is hidden until we review it.

Public community content

Prayer requests and notes left on prayer requests are visible to other people using Nephi Daily and Nephi Plates, without your name. This is not private messaging. Do not include private, confidential, sensitive, or personally identifying information in a prayer request or note, and avoid posting personal information about another person without their permission. We may review, restrict, hide, or remove community content when reasonably necessary to enforce our Terms of Service, protect users, comply with legal obligations, or maintain the Service.

Information that stays on your device

  • Photos. If you pick a photo as the background for a verse image, it is read from your photo library only when you choose it, used to make the image on your device, and never uploaded.
  • Reminders. Daily reminders are scheduled on your device as local notifications. No push-notification service or token is used.
  • Widgets and Quiet Time. Home-screen widgets and the Quiet Time timer on your lock screen read a small summary (your streak, today's steps, the next lesson) that the app saves on your device for them.

Verse Art images

The daily Verse Art designs are pre-made images, the same for everyone, downloaded from our image storage on Cloudflare. Downloading them doesn't include any account information, but like any web request it reveals your IP address and basic device information to Cloudflare, which may log it as part of operating its service.

Authentication

You can sign in with Apple, Google, or an email address and password, powered by Supabase Auth. If you use Apple or Google, those companies process your authentication according to their own privacy policies, and we only receive the identifier, email, and name they choose to share with us.

Automatically processed technical information

Our infrastructure providers (Supabase and Cloudflare) may log standard technical request information as part of operating their services, such as IP address, device information, timestamps, authentication events, and error information. We don't separately collect or analyze this ourselves.

How we use information

We use information as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide and maintain the Service;
  • create and authenticate accounts, including the account shared with Nephi Plates;
  • synchronize your progress across your devices;
  • provide community features such as the prayer room;
  • maintain security and prevent abuse;
  • respond to user requests; and
  • comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information for money.

Service providers

  • Supabase: authentication, database, and synchronization;
  • Cloudflare: storage and delivery of Verse Art images; and
  • Apple and Google: sign-in, when you choose that provider.

These providers process information on our behalf or as necessary to provide their services, and their processing is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Advertising, tracking, and analytics

Nephi Daily does not include advertising SDKs, third-party analytics, or ad trackers. The website (nephiplates.com) uses Vercel Web Analytics, a cookieless page-view tool, to understand aggregate visitor traffic.

Data sharing and disclosure

We may disclose information to service providers that help us operate the Service; when you make information public through a community feature; when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, fraud, or security incidents; when required by law or valid legal process; to protect the rights, safety, or security of our users or others; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.

Data retention and deletion

Account-linked data is kept for as long as your account exists. Prayer requests and their notes are deleted 30 days after they're posted, and you can delete your own requests sooner from My requests. You can permanently delete your account from Account → Delete Account, which immediately removes it and everything tied to it in both Nephi Daily and Nephi Plates, since they share one account. See Account Deletion for details. Residual copies may remain temporarily in backups until they're overwritten according to our providers' normal retention processes.

Security

We use industry-standard tools (Supabase, including Postgres Row Level Security) to limit access to your account data to your own account, with encrypted network communications. No method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

Nephi Daily is intended for a general audience and is not directed primarily to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without consent where required by law. A parent or guardian who believes a child under 13 has provided personal information may contact us at the address below.

International users

If you use Nephi Daily from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Where required by law, appropriate safeguards are used for those transfers.

Your privacy rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to withdraw consent. You can also sign out, delete your own content, and delete your account directly in the app. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date above and, where required by law, provide additional notice.
